Less than to wood. Roll on canvas or between plastic sheets for an easy release.
Place a pair of slab guides on each side of the clay and roll until the pin rides on the guides.
Most mugs, plates and boxes work at about 1/4 in. With the 16.9 in pin, a full width slab can be thinner for tiles or thicker for platters if you adjust your slab guides.
Run a rib over both sides, since smooth steel leaves a very even surface that dries evenly if you slow it down. Dry under plastic and flip the slab as it firms.
