About 4.3 x 0.6 inches, a good size for ornaments, small tiles and narrow bands.
Five: wave, pebble, star, flower and snowflake.
Soft clay that still holds its shape gives the crispest print from this small 4.3 in roller. Leather-hard clay takes only a faint mark, and sticky wet clay blurs it.
The wood helps release, but a light dusting of cornstarch on the slab makes it easier. Pick clay out of the wave or pebble grooves with a soft brush before it hardens.
Yes. Emboss the flat piece first, let it stiffen a little, then cut and join it into an ornament, tile or small box. Hold the finished piece by the edges to keep the print sharp.
Rub underglaze into the pattern and sponge it off the raised parts. A glaze that thins over edges will also outline the wave, star or snowflake lines.
