Small is about 1 in wide, medium about 1.4 in and large about 2.4 in. Overall lengths are about 11.4 to 12.2 in.
The small or medium fits the curve of a mug. Save the large for bowls, plates and vases.
Load the brush fully, lay glaze on in one direction, and let each coat dry to the touch before the next coat in a crossing direction.
Rinse it before the glaze dries, working the soft hairs gently under water. Reshape the fan edge and dry it flat, since standing it in water bends a fan this wide.
If you own more than one size, give each a role, such as underglaze on the small and glaze on the large. Residue left in the soft hair can tint a later color.
Brushing glazes usually call for two to three coats on bisque, but follow your jar. The fan edge keeps each coat thin, so let one dry to the touch before the next.
