About 5.1 x 5.1 inches (13 x 13 cm), large enough for a tile, coaster or the side of a mug.
Silicone flexes as you roll, which gives an even impression across a slab and releases cleanly.
Set the 5 x 5 in mat on a rolled slab and roll over it evenly, or lay the slab on the mat and roll into it. Peel from one corner so the shell ridges are not pulled up.
Soft, freshly rolled clay takes the deep shell and wave lines best. If the edges look blurred, let the slab firm for a few minutes before pressing again.
Dust it lightly with cornstarch before use, and rinse in warm water afterward. Use a soft brush on the wave grooves so dried clay does not fill them for the next tile.
Yes. Texture the slab flat, let it stiffen a little, then wrap it around a cylinder form. A 5 x 5 in impression covers about one side of a mug, so overlap prints or use plain clay for the rest.
