Soft, freshly rolled clay gives the cleanest print, since the repeating floral and Moroccan lines are fairly fine. If the clay has started to firm up, the pattern will come out shallow.

A light dusting of cornstarch on the slab usually does it. Rinse the roller in cool water after use, because PLA can warp with hot water and clay left in the grooves will dull the next print.

Wipe a dark underglaze into the floral or Moroccan relief and sponge the high points clean. A thin, translucent glaze over it lets the repeat read from across a room.
