Style A cuts circles from about 0.8 to 13.4 in across.
Style B cuts parallel strips about 0.8 to 6.7 in wide, useful for slab walls and coils. The 2pcs AB style includes both.
Yes. Clay shrinks roughly 10 to 15 percent in total, so a 13.4 in circle ends up smaller after firing. Set the compass for the finished size you want, not the wet size.
Cut at soft leather-hard, when the slab has firmed but is not brittle, so the edge stays clean. Cut the lid and its opening at the same stage so they shrink together.
