Small handles and decorative trims, yes. For full-size mug handles, a wall-mounted extruder works better.

It is probably too stiff. Wedge in a little water to soften it, or use a smoother clay.

Use soft, smooth clay, since stiff or heavily grogged clay may not push through the 19 discs. Wedge it well so air pockets do not make coils break up.

Push out leftover clay, then rinse the aluminum barrel and steel discs while still damp. Dry them all, including the rubber ring, before storing so nothing corrodes or traps clay.
