About 1/8 to 3/16 in, so ornaments are light and dry evenly.
Right after cutting, while the clay is soft. A straw or small hole cutter works well.
Roll the slab to 1/8 to 3/16 in, let it firm slightly, then press each of the 12 shapes straight down. Wipe the edge with a damp sponge before the ornaments dry.
Not after clay. Once the stainless shapes have touched clay, keep them for pottery only. Buy separate cutters if you also bake holiday cookies.
